We are a water taxi company operating in Plymouth, Devon, UK.

Mount Batten Water Taxis (run by Sound Cruising Ltd) have been established for sometime now and have gained a reputation for customer service. Mount Batten Water Taxis offer a regular daily service between Mount Batten and the historic Barbican. The service is ideally suited for commuters, shoppers, people going out for a day with their families and also people going to the aquarium.

We offer a range of services from the Barbican to most areas within Plymouth. Although our primary route is between the Barbican and Mount Batten, extra routes can also be arranged to: Bovisand, Yacht Haven Marina, Turnchapel, Hooe Lake and the Water Sports Center.

To arrange a trip to an alternate route just telephone for availability.

We operate daily, 363 days per year. Crossings are weather and circumstances permitting.

The Mount Batten Water Taxi company currently owns two boats which do the following:
Coral Star IV

This 65 seater boat can be booked for weddings, other major bookings and also does the main ferrying in the summer months.
"Copper" The Water Taxi

This 12 seater is used to make trips between the Mount Batten pub and the Barbican.

The gallery shows a range of photos of the area surrounding where the Mount Batten Water Taxi company operates. The photos are of both the historic Barbican and the Mount Batten area.

The Barbican was the only area of Plymouth that was not bombed during the second world war preserving the location's important local history. This is mainly attributed to when the Pilgrim Fathers set sail to America in 1620. The Barbican features many restaurants including authentic local take away, 'Cap 'n Jaspers'. It also boasts places to visit and buy souvenirs such as the Barbican Glassworks and the National Marine Aquarium.

Mount Batten peninsular offers a fantastic scenic public house and a friendly water sports center. The area offers individuals to have a quiet, relaxing drink and an enjoyable walk along the pier. This is also the link to the south west coastal footpath.
